Care
Before use, impregnate your table with an impregnating agent for natural stone. This will better protect the table from superficial stains and scratches. However, please note that this will not change the porous character of the marble. Therefore, we recommend using coasters and caring for the marble regularly. Carrara marble is a white, light gray, or blue-gray natural stone that originates from the Carrara region in Tuscany, Italy.
It’s important to know that Carrara marble contains natural imperfections, which means that the material is never perfect. The following imperfections are normal:
Porosity: The porosity of Carrara marble can vary from piece to piece. Some pieces are very porous and have numerous small holes and voids on the surface, while others have much fewer pores and a smoother texture.
Fossils: Fossil inclusions (also called taroli) in Carrara marble can vary in size and shape. They can look like small black dots, crystalline spots, or large irregular shapes that run through the stone.
Cracks: Natural cracks or fracture lines in the marble can vary in size and depth. Some are very thin and hardly noticeable, while others are wide and deep. These cracks give the marble character and add an organic feel to the surface.
Stains: Impurities in Carrara marble can appear as dark spots or streaks on the surface of the stone. These stains can vary in size and density depending on the amount of impurities in the marble.
